Anyone knocking down targets?
I thought it might be nice for pople to have a place to post those Whaa Hoos when they accomplish taking down a target. Doesn't have to be physical fitness related, any target you worked for and won will do! I just accomplished the first target of a series with a long term goal of teaching parenting classes. We have a huge need in my area, its rural and has a lot of alcohol, drugs, and domestic violence, which has gotten worse with the downturn in the economy. I put together an outline of what I planned to teach and my resume and submitted it to the regional clinic here who treats most of the low income and indigent population. Our poverty rate is 25% by the way. The presentation was very well received and I am waiting for a final decision. When I got the call that they loved it, my son who is 15 was laughing watching me do the "happy dance" in the living room! Who Hoo! One down, now stage two! Deb

Awesome Deb!
Thank you for sharing! You are doing fantastic Deb! Thank you for being an inspiration to me! Getting back in to the gym is my latest accomplishment. After baby #2 I put it off and had zero energy. Feeling like myself again! Have tons of targets to knock down but great things happening - and I actually can't wait to share these here with you awesome people SOON!!!!!
Target 2
I made 1 mile today on the treadmill! Also, lost 6 pounds in the last couple weeks. I'm getting excited. Congratulations Mandy! My daughter just had her first child on Spet. 1st- my first grandchild whom I am spoiling rotten, and my second daughter is in labor right now! I know it was hard for my daughter to get back into the swing of things. Having a baby keeping you up at all hours at first is draining as is the body readjusting from the massive changes in pregnancy. Great job for getting back up there and going for it. Deb

Parenting classes are a go!
Well I received final approval today to start parenting clases at the regional clinic, they are allowing me to use their facility and are making referrals for clients to attend, Also (big news) they asked me teach a class specifically geared to new moms in addition. Since I am trying to move my career over into teaching I am very excited at the opportunity. This target is down and moving on to preparation phase! I have much of the basics completed but a lot of details to work out now. Whoo Hoo again!

Congrats!
Job well done Deborah! Way to hit your target! The shift in one's attitude and mindset seems to frequently open doors, or that's what I have experienced at least... So happy for you. Keep up the great work!
Come join the conversation!
Any other NDCQers out there who are making progress toward your goals and knocking down those targets? I would love to hear about it, and I'm sure others would to. It is encouraging to hear about others successes. If you have a stubborn target we would like to hear about that too so we can support you in pursuing your goals. Come share with us! Join in, and we can encourage each other on the path! Deb

Preparation
Hai Deborah,
How are you doing? Are you ready to go for your walk/ run on the 8th of December?
Francoise
walk/run
Yes I am Franscoise. I have one son and possibly my daughter walking with me, (depends on how her 3 month old daughter is doing that day!). I am strapping my left ankle which still is weak so I don't accidently sprain it or something. I know the route and it is basically level. It is night time so it will be cold, possibly slick spots, but well lighted. I am doing about a mile and a tenth or more regularly on the treadmill and have improved my time so I think I am good to go. I am really looking forward to it. Have my NDCQ shirts ready to go! I have my last final for the semester that day and then I am out of school til after New Years. How are you doing, my friend? Deb
